Senior Automation Engineer - Technical Lead and/or Specialists
Multiply is building a strong pool of senior automation professionals for current and upcoming assignments within advanced manufacturing, robotics, automotive, energy, process industry, Life Sciences and industrial digitalisation.
Your role
Depending on your background, you may:
Lead automation activities from design to commissioning and production support
Develop and modify PLC, HMI, SCADA and DCS systems
Take technical ownership of machines, production lines, process equipment or robot cells
Troubleshoot production-critical systems and lead root-cause analysis
Modernise existing automation platforms
Coordinate suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Support machine safety, functional safety and OT/IT integration
Plan and coordinate automation work packages, milestones, risks, dependencies and technical deliverables
Support customer communication, progress reporting and technical decision-making
You may work in both project and production environments. This can include daily production support, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis, preventive improvements, equipment modifications, FAT/SAT, commissioning and production ramp-up. Experience with electrical drawings, control cabinets, industrial maintenance and production-critical systems is highly valuable.
Your profile
You have solid experience in industrial automation and specialist competence in one or more of the following areas:
PLC engineering: Siemens S7 and TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation, Beckhoff TwinCAT, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Omron or similar platforms
ABB automation: ABB 800xA, AC 800M, System 800xA, ABB robotics or related control environments
HMI and SCADA: WinCC, FactoryTalk, AVEVA System Platform, Ignition or comparable supervisory systems
Process automation and DCS: PCS 7, ABB 800xA, instrumentation, batch control and process-control systems
Industrial robotics: ABB, KUKA, FANUC or similar platforms, including programming, cell integration and commissioning
Motion and drives: Servo systems, frequency converters and coordinated machine control
Industrial communication: PROFINET, PROFIBUS, EtherCAT, Modbus TCP, OPC UA or industrial Ethernet
Machine safety: Safety PLCs, functional safety, machinery regulations and CE-related engineering
OT/IT integration: MES, databases, APIs, production-data platforms, industrial middleware and cybersecurity
Testing and commissioning: FAT, SAT, virtual commissioning, production ramp-up and troubleshooting
Brownfield modernisation: Upgrades, migrations and modifications to production-critical systems
Life Sciences automation: GMP-regulated production, validation, traceability, structured documentation and controlled system changes
Experience in project management, technical project leadership or work-package coordination is meriting. This may include planning, estimation, risk management, supplier coordination, stakeholder communication, progress reporting and responsibility for scope, schedule and technical deliverables.
Experience with GAMP 5, computerised-system validation, qualification activities, audit trails, electronic records, batch systems or regulated change control is also meriting for Life Sciences assignments.
You do not need experience in every area. We are particularly interested in candidates with recognised depth in at least one automation domain and the ability to understand how machines, control systems, data, networks and production processes interact.
You are comfortable combining hands-on engineering with technical responsibility, customer dialogue and coordination across engineering disciplines.
You communicate confidently in English. Swedish is meriting, particularly for production-facing and customer-site assignments.
Work with VisFlow Operational World
At Multiply, automation is connected with industrial data, systems engineering, cybersecurity and operational improvement through our VisFlow platform.
VisFlow Operational World is an offering within our VisFlow platform where we are building a live, connected representation of an enterprise’s operations. It brings together machines, production systems, applications, data flows, networks, assets and business processes into a single operational model.
This enables real-time visibility, dependency analysis, operational insights and intelligent automation across the enterprise.
As a senior automation professional, your domain expertise can help connect production-floor systems with the wider operational environment and support smarter, more resilient and better-coordinated operations.
Why Multiply?
At Multiply, you can:
Work in advanced Swedish industrial environments
Combine technical leadership with hands-on engineering
Influence architectures, standards and delivery methods
Contribute to VisFlow and industrial digitalisation
Help shape Multiply’s growing automation offering
