Role Overview
Multiply Teknik & IT is seeking a senior Industrial Automation Engineer with strong experience in automation project execution and project management. This role is well-suited for a technically hands-on professional who can both deep-dive into existing automation systems and take ownership of delivery, coordination, and technical leadership in customer projects.
You will work on-site with customer teams, primarily focusing on reverse engineering, debugging, restructuring, and optimizing existing production logic to ensure systems are lean, robust, maintainable, and compliant with best practices. In parallel, you will act as a technical driver in automation projects—supporting planning, coordination, and execution across stakeholders.
The role centers around Siemens TIA Portal, where you will analyze legacy systems, identify inefficiencies, and either refactor or rebuild solutions to meet modern automation and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Automation Engineering & Architecture
Architect PPAP-compliant software systems, enforcing folder structures, coding standards, and best practices.
Reverse engineer and refactor existing PLC programs to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
Design modular, reusable automation architectures for scalable production systems.
Implement robust signal modeling using reusable UDTs and comprehensive alarm handling concepts.
Simulation & Commissioning
Drive simulation and virtual commissioning workflows to validate system behavior prior to deployment.
Utilize tools such as SIMIT (experience highly valued) to de-risk commissioning phases.
System Integration
Ensure deterministic communication and fail-safe restart behavior for high system availability.
Implement DIDRIK interfaces according to MEC and signal specifications, including sequence control, gap handling, and NOK/reject logic.
Integrate automation systems with MES and EBBA, ensuring traceability, data consistency, and multi-variant logic.
Graph & Code Quality
Own graph programming standards, ensuring correct transitions, vertical flow logic, non-empty steps, and consistent naming conventions.
Perform structured code reviews of FBs, FCs, and Graphs to ensure compliance with internal and customer standards.
Automation Project Management
Act as a technical lead within automation projects, supporting planning, task breakdown, and execution follow-up.
Coordinate closely with customer stakeholders, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure alignment on scope, milestones, and technical decisions.
Support risk identification, technical decision-making, and change handling during project execution.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within project teams.
Technical Requirements
7+ years of hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal in industrial automation projects.
Strong background in process automation and discrete manufacturing systems.
Proven experience reprogramming, optimizing, and modernizing existing production systems.
Demonstrated ability to architect structured, modular, and reusable PLC software.
Experience with SIMIT and virtual commissioning is a strong advantage.
Track record of delivering automation projects with MES integration, traceability, and multi-variant logic.
Experience working in environments with formal standards, documentation, and quality requirements.
